IMPLANTOLOGY

The lack of one or more teeth can seriously affect your daily life. It can affect your overall health, appearance and confidence.
Consequences of tooth loss can be seen in the interaction between teeth and bone when impaired. The gums and bone are no longer stimulated enough after tooth loss, so the jaw bone narrows and the gums recede. This can weaken adjacent teeth that may collapse and teeth in the opposite jaw may grow into free space.
Tooth loss and reduced jawbone make your face look older and wrinkled while your cheeks become puffy and relaxed. Teeth can no longer stabilize the lips and cheeks inside. Every tooth is important!

How Can Dental Implants Help You?
A dental implant is an artificial dental root made of titanium that replaces a lost tooth.Similar to the previous dental root, the implant is a stable base for the crown that will become a visible part of your new tooth.

Implant crowns and bridges
Dental crowns and bridges are also called replacement teeth. They are made of different materials and are used to make up for lost teeth. The dental laboratory makes each replacement tooth individually to fit your bite and act like your natural tooth/teeth.
An implant crown is the perfect solution for those patients who have teeth left and right of a single tooth that is completely lost. An implant crown solves the problem of a missing tooth without affecting sourrounding teeth.
Most patients find that missing one tooth in the lateral zone (one that is not visible when laughing) is a negligible problem. Unfortunately, the reality is different. Very often, a missing one tooth affects not only the position of the surrounding teeth, but also those in the opposite jaw. Over time, this problem can result in the loss of one or more teeth.
Bridge on implants
An implant bridge, unlike a conventional dental bridge, anchors to more than one implant rather than more than one tooth.

Why choose a dental implant?
Dental implants are nowadays generally considered the safest method for replacing teeth.
Dental implants mimic your natural teeth. The color, shape and contour of new teeth can be customized to fit your natural teeth. The result is a natural smile that can give you confidence and a quality life.
Other restorations often require grinding of adjacent teeth in order to fit into the oral cavity. Dental implants do not damage adjacent teeth. Adjacent teeth remain intact
Dental implants are fixed in the jawbone, making them stable and usually more comfortable and longer lasting than other restorations. On top of that, they are made of biocompatible materials which means the body simply accepts them.
A long-term and proven solution
Dental implants are long lasting. With adequate care and good oral hygiene, implants can last for many years and even a lifetime. The first patient was rehabilitated with modern dental implants back in 1965. Since then, decades of research into their functionality and stability have been conducted.
Eat and speak naturally
Have you had to give up some of your favorite foods since you lost your teeth? Do you feel insecure when talking to friends because losing your teeth or dentures makes it difficult to speak clearly? Dental implants restore the full function of natural teeth and can help you.

What does therapy look like?
Diagnosis and surgery planning
Dr. Bigava Marsic first examines your situation to decide if you are a candidate for dental implants. It is important that your gums and jawbone are not affected by inflammation. If necessary, the inflammation will be treated before surgery.
During the diagnosis, Dr. Bigava Marsic also assesses the type of jaw bone and how much bone is left. After years without teeth, your jawbone can be significantly reduced. In this case, additional interventions may be proposed to allow the implantation of a dental implant.
Implantation
We work with the NOBEL BIOCARE STRAUMAN, ANKYLOS and ALPHA BIO implant systems.
Implant placement is usually an outpatient procedure, and thanks to local anesthesia, you will almost never feel anything. Depending on the individual situation in the oral cavity, implants are placed in one or more steps.
The final replacement
After surgery, a cap is usually placed on the implant as your implant integrates with the jaw bone. Implant and bone integration
Only top quality products can achieve the ultimate harmonious smile that will accompany you throughout your life.
