ORTHODONTICS

Orthodontics is a specialty of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis, prevention and correction of malpositioned teeth and jaws, and the study of developmental disorders and all factors that can cause malocclusions and associated alterations of adjacent tissues.
A beautiful smile with straight teeth is a mirror of every human being and one of the most striking physical traits of any person. Not everyone is lucky to be born with a beautiful smile, so modern dental medicine offers an answer in the form of orthodontics (the oldest specialist branch of dental medicine), which has been restoring beautiful smiles to the face for decades. This branch of dental medicine deals with disorders of growth and the development of the jaws and teeth, and with orthodontic therapy corrects irregularities of tooth position and inter-jaw relations.
FIRST VISIT TO THE ORTHODONTIST

A first visit to an orthodontist is recommended at the age of seven when examination and analysis identify anomalies in the growth and development of the jaws and teeth. After diagnosis, the patient is advised on the type of therapy, the time of initiation of therapy and its duration. There is no age limit for orthodontic therapy, since tooth positional anomalies can be corrected equally in children and adults, since the mechanism of tooth movement is the same.
ORTHODONTIC THERAPY
There are several forms of orthodontic therapy as well as the types of appliances that dentists use. We distinguish between fixed and mobile therapies.
1.FIXED ORTHODONTIC APPARATUS

A fixed orthodontic appliance is the most effective way to correct dental anomalies. It is a simple technique in which the brackets (metal, porcelain or transparent / sapphire) as well as additional elements are fixed to the teeth. A fixed orthodontic appliance is increasingly used in adult patients because it is never too late to correct crooked teeth or recessed teeth, gaps between teeth, or gaps created by tooth extractions.
In addition to correcting anomalies, the apparatus also has the task of stimulating bone growth. The patient can choose the color of the elastics when using konventional MBT braces.
A revolutionary new approach in orthodontics provides patients with a much higher degree of comfort throughout the therapy.

The reason for this is the unique technology of sliding mechanics present in the Damon System ( a self-ligating bracket) that allows the orthodontists to use gentle forces to move the teeth into the right position. This so-called ‘passive’ sliding mechanism holds the wire inside the brackets allowing the wires free movement. Thus, the teeth are less sensitive and there is less pain while wearing them due to the use of weak forces during dental shift.
As a result the Damon system reduces the number of checkups and office time.
They are simpler, more comfortable and better, both for the patient and the orthodontist.
The Damon bracket and wire system can often spread the jaw more than other bracket systems and it is often unnecessary to extract compressed teeth when using this system. It is also possible to compensate for a surgical case and avoid surgical therapy, of course if the bone, ie. the width of the alveolar ridge, allows it. With the Damon system you can get a broader smile then with other systems .
This bracket system is the only system that can be entirely individualized as the therapy plan has the option of selecting brackets torques specifically for each tooth.

Advantages of Damon Self-Locking Brackets:
- top aesthetics
- often without teeth removal
- painless
- top results
- improvement in the appearance of the entire face, especially the middle third of the face
- wide smile with visible molars
- less time needed to change the wires, resulting in shorter checkups
- low friction between the bracket and the wire (better and faster tooth movement)
- shorter therapy and less frequent checkup visits
- easier and more efficient maintenance of hygiene
- uses a weak force to save the periodontal ligament
- Damo n Clear are transparent brackets available for patients requiring uncompromising aesthetics
After the application of the brackets , check-ups are every 4 to 10 weeks depending on the phase of therapy.
Will the teeth move after removing the braces?
After every orthodontic treatment there is a possibility of repeated teeth movement (relapse). In order to prevent the teeth from returning to its original position, we use mobile retentive devices(Damon retainer) and fixed retention (strips or archwires that are glued from the inside of the teeth – not visible). They should be worn by the patients for a certain period of time to prevent possible movement of the teeth.
Maintaining oral hygiene
During orthodontic treatment, special attention should be paid to the proper maintenance of oral hygiene. Along with classic oral hygiene, we recommend using interdental brushes and a water pick
2.MOBILE ORTHODONT APPARATUS

INMAN ALIGNER
Inman Aligner is a mobile orthodontic appliance that corrects teeth in a much shorter time than other orthodontic methods. If you are dissatisfied with the appearance and arrangement of your teeth in the front, do not immediately think about therapy for grinding healthy teeth due to the placement of veneers or crowns.
